Our Recommended VR Headsets
Not all VR headset are created equal.
vLearning requires a VR-Headset
All our courses (unless otherwise specified) require a VR headset with VR controllers in order to fully immerse oneself in the vLearning. We have worked extensively to ensure that our VR learning environments are fully accessible to the most widely used freestanding (not requiring a computer) VR systems. We have listed them above.
As our VR learning environments are running via WebXR, it is likely that other VR systems with controllers (other than the above-mentioned ones) will also be able to access the VR content of our courses. However, we cannot guarantee that this is the case nor that it will be a smooth experience. If you would like to find out if your existing VR headset is capable of accessing our VR content then please enrol in the free “Experience vLearning” course to test it.
Mobile phone VR solutions will in the vast majority of cases not work due to lack of motion controllers and VR browser support. Older mobile VR solutions may also not have sufficient computing power to run our simulations.
Where to source a VR-Headset
How to access the VR content of the course on your VR-Headset
Accessing our VR simulations could not be easier. All you have to do is to put on your VR-headset (make sure it’s charged), open your headset’s internet browser and access the vLearning portal (this website). Once here, login to your account and access your course. Once on your course page, you will see the VR course content. Please open it so that VR content loads. Once loaded all you will have to do is to click the little blue square with a VR written on it (usually bottom right corner).
I wear glasses - can I still use VR?
The short answer is YES. Majority of Headsets have inserts that allow for a headset to be used with a pair of glasses. It is also possible to purchase prescription lenses that will slot on top of the lens inside the headset thus removing any need for glasses. Contact lenses can also be used with a VR headset. Some VR headset have adjustable lenses built in - unfortunately, as we have not tested these with our VR environments, we cannot guarantee they can be used in our V-Learning simulations.
